ReWear – Circular Secondhand Wardrobe App
1. Concept Overview
ReWear is a calm, minimalist, and emotionally supportive circular-fashion app designed to help people reorganize overflowing wardrobes with clarity and confidence. By simply taking a photo of a garment, the system automatically produces a clean, white-background product image and identifies brand, color, material, and condition—removing the biggest barriers of organizing or selling secondhand clothing.
To ease the emotional struggle of letting go, ReWear introduces a four-quadrant decluttering board—Keep, Give, Donate, Sell—allowing users to organize items through intuitive drag-and-drop interactions. The app connects users with donation organizations, recycling stations, and secondhand marketplaces to provide clear and responsible next steps.
Finally, an environmental impact summary—CO₂ reduction, garment renewal count, and circularity indicators—motivates long-term sustainable behavior.
ReWear demonstrates how UX design, emotional design, and playful interaction can turn circular fashion into a simple, meaningful, and accessible daily practice for young urban users balancing sustainability with busy lives.
2. Design Problem & Insight
Users often postpone decluttering despite wanting a cleaner space. Research reveals four major barriers:
Emotional attachment — clothing represents memories, identity, and experiences.
Decision fatigue — “keep or toss” oversimplifies nuanced emotional value.
High friction when selling or donating — background removal, descriptions, and logistics feel overwhelming.
Lack of clear, trustworthy channels — users are unsure how to recycle or donate responsibly.
ReWear reduces these pain points through emotional scoring, guided steps, and AI automation—supported by a soft, MUJI-inspired visual language that keeps the experience warm and pressure-free.
